After fishing for years and years and years with live baits I recenty went to lures a few years ago. I'll never go back FULL time using live baits. To me angling is just more fun than sitting around waiting. To know that the fish hit that lure cus of where you put it and how you placed it there is makes you feel more proud than just tossing some bait out there and waiting.

I use small spinners, i use broke back minos, rubber worms, rubber frogs, rubber lizzards you may call them plastic but to me their rubber lol. Bass seem to like the salty pumpkin seed plastics. Also use a dive bait lure. it hits the water on top then you reel it in it dives thus making a rattling sound and kinda wiggling around

i always sue lures but some of the best are swimbaits or hard lures by rapala or calvin cordell who make lipless cranks

I don't catch too many BIG fish since I'm in Michigan and until recently have been a landlubber, but I can recommend a couple that catch ALOT of bass.
Bass Pro Shops XPS Nitro Minnow
Cotton Cordell Jointed Grappler Shad

Of the 8 bass and 1 pike I caught today, all the fish were caught on those 2 lures and a Rebel Mystic Minnow. Gotta get the Mystic off Ebay though. Been discontinued for years.
Really a nice bonus that the Nitro and Grappler are inexpensive
