Default One last good day before winter hits.

We have an unseasonably good day forecast for tomorrow, 11-14-10. The wind is supposed to be at 7 mph or less. The skys should be partly cloudy and then clear. There is a front forecast to move in Wednesday. The temps should be in the mid to high 50's. It sounds like the perfect day to burn some vacation time. I have the boat all packed and ready to go. I have 7 rods rigged with most of the things that I plan to try. I packed one tray full of all the plastics and jig chunks that I think I might need. Re organized all the tackle trays in the bag. Charged the batteries. Now I'm sitting here fretting about if I have the baits I should have or if I should look at everything one more time. I'm taking the small boat, so I have to leave the duffel bag full of plastics and just take one bag each of my top favorites. I have my large tackle bag, but will have to leave the extra 10 trays at home. I stopped by the bass store today and stocked up on 1/4 oz road runner spinners in case the bite is real sluggish. I think I'm ready for a day on the water. Tavery5 also took off work. This will be the first time we have fished together and we are going to a 40 acre sand pit lake that i have a lease on. The fishing should be great. Now I just hope I can get some sleep, I'm always like a kid in a candy store the night before any fishing trip, even if it's just to a local pond for the day.

Kevin, I done the same thing, went through all the plastics trying to think of what I would really use, narrrowed down the hard baits to three boxes and crammed everthing into one bag. I am looking forward to a great day on the water, catching fish will be a bonus.

Since I fish out of a 12 foot jon and dont have much room, I often go through the same dilemma. Usually, I do ok with what I picked to take with me. By mid morning I'm usually putting away all but 2-3 rods. I'm sure you'll do fine. Have fun regardless.

We had a good day on the lake. The weather was great for this time of year. We caught several keeper size bass. Tony hooked a big one early but it got off at the boat before he could lip it, it looked to be about 5lbs. The fish were scatterd and didn't seem to be on any clear pattern but more hit and miss on various baits. We tried another smaller pond later and caught a few more. Tony used a swim jig to catch several at the small pond. The bait monkey informed me that we need swim jigs. I will post a few pictures later.

The water here's about 45* now. The smallies are biting good still on tubes etc. We're getting the scattered LMB too. Mostly jigging spoons and traps worked with a yo-yo retrieve.
