Default My break from winter blues.

Nothing big or special, but was an enjoyable way to spend a couple hours here in the frozen north. Went to BPS today, spent a couple hours just poking around and checking things out. Picked up a few things I wanted to get before the spring thaw. I've been wanting to try the BPS XPS Minnow jerkbait, so I picked out the 5" Chrome/black Back model. Very similar to my favorite jerkbait made by Excaliber. I want to see if it performs anything like the Excaliber. It weighs 7/8 oz. so I should be able to get nice long cast, even on windy days which are the norm here in springtime. Going to replace the hooks on it with Mustad Triple Grips, the red ones. Not that I'm a huge color red guy, but my Excaliber jerkbait I love so much has red hooks, so keeping apples with apples. Also picked up another buzzbait made by Hart. It's a very plain jane buzzer, but was on sale for $1.99 so I figured, why not get one. At that price I can mess around with customizing it if I like and not be concerned about ruining a good buzzer. Also a pack of white/chatruese Starflash skirts and 3 packages of various Triple Grip trebles. Picked up a few lottery tickets too on the way home, so that if I win I can get that boat I really want! Have a great weekend everyone.

Looks like a good way to subdue the cabin fever keith! Got some of the hooks last year and they worked out well for me! Hope that jerkbait works out well for ya!

Ya know, I WAS gonna call and ask ya if you wanted me to pick ya up anything, but then I remembered that pic of all the gear you have stashed in your office, and the looks Lisa was given ya, and thought better of it. Don't want Lisa comming after me with a rolling pin.

I got an order today from Bass Pro, I have been wanting to check out some of the new colors and new baits.

This is a picture of a couple new colors the KVD square bills are available in.

I had been hearing allot of talk about the new Luck E Strike RCSTX Jerkbaits so I picked up a couple of those as well.

Lucky E Strike is also makeing a copy of the old Wiggle Wart, called the Wart Hog, I was interested when I heard this, so I picked a few up to try out.

Now all I have to do is just manage to catch a few fish with them.

I love the new colors for the KVD squarebills. I bought a few of the new Luck E Strike jerkbaits, in fact I have two of the 3 colors you show in your picture. I haven't opened the package on them yet but I have heard several people complain about the split rings on them so you might want to give them a look and see if the look like they need replaced. The Wart Hog is a great idea and I hope it catches fish as well as the Wiggle Wart. I read on another site where several people had them fill up with water though. They said that Luck E Strike was working on the problem so hopefully yours got out after they fixed it. Be sure and post up your thoughts on the jerkbaits and Wart Hogs.

I've been trying to pick up some of those RCSTX's too but my BPS is always sold out of them, I haven't seen the Warthogs there yet either. They look great though. Here are a couple more new colors of the KVD, the new Zoom Z Hog and the new LC Fat Smasher I picked up the other day.

That's all some great looking stuff! I thought those jerkbaits looked pretty good too, I'll have to try some out if you guys like em! Where (online) can you find the new colors of those KVD square bills?

BPS has some of the new colors. I got the Neon Bluegill (top bait in my pic) at Academy, I don't see it at BPS.

http://www.basspro.com/Strike-King-K...0209675/225307

They also offer them in rattle versions.

I'm not really sure, Academy has some of the realistic bluegill colors in Tony's pic but they don't have a lot of the other new colors that BPS carries. The last time I looked, TW didn't have any of the new colors. I didn't notice any of the new colors last time I was at Cabelas either.

The bottom KVD in my pic is called Tilapia on the package but BPS has it labeled as River Minnow, guess Tilapia is too regional or something.

basshunter I do about 6 trips a year down to Cabelas. They were supposed to put in a BPS in Washington Pa but some thing with taxs or whatever canceled it. What a trip that would have been. I did go to Dick's and Gander in Washington today. Picked up a CiticaE and some line at Dick's.
