I second that.

If you can catch a peacock big enough to out weigh a largemouth than you deserve to win anyway.

And just out of curiosity what would lakes like Stick Marsh be classified as? As its 100% open to the public and has some of the largest fish in fl in it.

And what about neighborhood lakes with a public boat ramp? Very little bank access but full access for non-resident boaters. Public or private?

Peacock under no circumstances is a black bass and should not (IMO) be allowed. You might as well start allwoing stripers if you do that.

Any lake that is open to the public is by definition a public lake, doesnt matter how small or large. Stick Marsh definitly is public.

Yesterday I fished a small oxbow lake, maybe an acre in size. Had I caught anything worth measuring for this, it would have counted under my understanding of the rules. That was a public lake. It had a public boat ramp. It just happened to be very small.

We are not talking about 20+ pound peacock. The Florida record is 9 lbs. My biggest is 5 lb 2 oz. You are probably thinking of speckled peacock from the Amazon that get huge. The only peacock in Florida are butterfly peacock. I don't know whether or not that changes your opinion, but tell me what you think.

Let me put it this way, Peacock Bass are not bass. They are chichlids or something like that. Different genus. Thats why they should not be allowed in the tourney. They are as closely related to largemouth as walleye. Should we start counting walleye, too? It would even it up for the yanks.

I'm not even sure if someone pulled out an 8 pound spot where it would count, and that is a black bass.
