Another stupid boating question . . .
The winch on my new boat does not lock in place. When I reel it in it will just loosen up if the handle is turned the opposite way. This still happens even when I turn the metal piece up. There are actually two metal gear wheels and I am wondering if there should be another metal piece for the other gear wheel which would lock the winch in place. Is the winch supposed to lock in place? Does this question make any sense?
