I bought some several years ago in a 3000 yard spool in 8lb and 14lb ( store closing ) real cheap and still have it because it was/is worthless. I've been scared of it ever since.

I use vanish on three of my bass rods. I love the stuff, have only had one bad spool. I've been using it for about 4 years now. You really have to know how to spool it and take care of it! good fishin'

TAKE IT BACK ASAP!!!

Vanish, for bass fishing anyways, is CRAP! Vanish was designed as a walleye line (I'd still use regular fluoro for 'eyes), and wasn't designed to stand up to the repeated casting and rock-the-boat, cross-their-eyes hooksets of bass fishing. It's break and become weak fast, your knots will break too. Take it back, and get some real fluorocarbon if you want fluoro. I'd suggest Seaguar InvisX.

The Vanish transition was good until it got alot of fish on it, it broke easier than anything after it got stretched hard. I would definately not be trying to pull a snag free or end up having to break it off and then go fish with it. The regular Vanish was really weak and was horrible for line memory.I hope they changed it since I fished with it. P N J

Vanish is a bad news. Guess that explains why Ike broke these line a lot on his City Limits shows

I like some of Berkley's mono except their fluoro.

I don't like it on a reel, but I have no complaints when using it as a C-rig leader.

Have to agree with everyone. Busted a lot of fish off on the hook set on it.

I did the same thing, at my local wally world for 2.50 a spool, so i picked up three spools, even if it is not that great, it costs less than ten bucks. When i finally try it out, i will post a review.

LOL ask Denny about it, he spooled up some last year or two and every cast or hook set his line broke...the best one was we were fishing riprap and got under a causeway bridge, he throws a crank bait and the line breaks and the lure goes wayyyy up and hits the bridge, falls back on the big chunk rock, and yep he found his manns minus one LOL ..
He's pretty much done with vanish...heh

Ryan, say if you purchased a expensive 200 yards of fluoro and don't want to use it all up on one reel. So, you use any cheap line like a $1.99 spool and spool it about 1/3 or half on your reel spool NEXT is to fill up the rest with a good line because not ALL the line will come off your spool when you cast. So you will have leftover for other reel or to replace it and leave the backing "cheap line" on there.
