Who says all pro bass fisherman need an 60,000 dollar bass rigs. Look at Rick Clunn and his Tracker T18 with 150 merc. Thats right Tracker not Nitro.

yea, he has SEVERAL free rigs he fishes out of. different rigs for different places to fish in. some of the bigger rigs can't get into the small places little rigs can.

I think Tracker builds the Nitros. I heard some mnight be fishing out of a tin boat. I don't blame them. Maybe the crowds won't be able to follow them as bad.

Yes, some people will follow them all over the lake. I don't mean just 4or 5 boats, sometimes 30 or 40 boats. Can you imagine watching KVD crankbaiting or IkE'S antic's when he catches one.

I can tell ya that that wouldn't be for me, when I'm out on a lake I want to be fishin, not watching someone else doing what I want to be doing.

When you stop and think about it, all that really matters is how big and how many fish you can put in your boat when the day is done.

I had no idea some guys would be fishing out of small boats like this. This is really cool!

They have to on Red in order to get in some of the places, especially if the water starts dropping. Also, it's late pre-spawn so some fish will be extremely shallow on stumpy flats, and because the boats are narrower and usually float shallower, using them will allow the guys to get fish these areas easier.

I agree I heard that at the elite events the top guys have to worry about the spectators that follow them around then pounce on a spot right when they pull off.

That's great! I'd love to see one of them whip Ike or KVD. Go Kennedy!

i started another thread about the smaller boats but a lot of the guys practiced in a boat like that so they could explore the backwater but many are now changing.... Byron Velvick fished in a small boat but said he is going back to his fiberglass one b/c of its speed (look at his blog on Bassmaster.com)

It's nice to see them reflect back to the roots of fishing. I'm sure we've all fished like that at one point.

Don't forget that Roland won on the Conn. River by fishing out of a jet boat. He ran the rapids and got to smallies that the others couldn't get to. Bigger and faster boats don't always mean winning tournaments.

Just ask Zooker.
