Welcome aboard Bassackwards!

There is bound to be some kind of big water nearby that you can play in.

You can't use a big motor on it but Lake Prince is only about 1-1/2 hours from you. I fished it many years ago and the fishing was great. You have to buy a permit from the county or city i forget. But it doesn't get a lot of pressure and it has some monster bass in it. Plus the shell cracker fishing is unreal. Virginia Game & fish magazine is always running articles on it.

What about Duck creek and hot ditch and so many backwaters in your area.. Any long creek/river will have LGMouth at the end down there..

Also Northeast river is only one hour south of you..

North side of Currituck is still great also.

You will need to learn tides to fish that area.

One of my greatest nights was fishing Hampton Roads bridge-tunnel in the cool evening of the late summer. Hooked and released over forty Rojo Trambone before midnight.

I won a tourney on the Chic back in 1978 on the wing dams and anchored my stringer in the pits with a 6lb er on a speed shad.

Have not fished it since..

Ran maybe 6 miles all day from the launch.

Some do allow it but others ask you to remove the gas tank..

Lakes Like Beaverdam in Gloucester require a special pass to launch your own boat..

It is different on each lake..

Google it..
