I think Carolina-Rig has it right, but maybe not in that order. I'd put McClelland at number 1.

the only reason i put mike mcclelland at 2 is because hackney said that the red river is one of his favorite places to fish and considers it a home body of water.

and doc i agree on rojas and wirth, they both seem like great guys. and i wouldn't really consider either one of them a long shot, especially not rojas.

my three: 1: Greg Hackney
2: Mike Iaconelli
3: Byron Velvick
I had to put Byron because he took my friend fishing on the red river and showed him the ropes. Also he got my friend a lot of free stuff from berkeley. It was a great experience for my friend.

Talking

My selfish perspective:

To me, it doesn't matter who wins as long as they do not win with a crankbait pattern. The last thing I want is another crankbait craze with everyone throwing the same presentation as me.

How on earth are people handicapping this?

I mean I have a very basic gut feeling about who will win the Superbowl, but a bass fishing tournament? Might as well throw out 3 popular names, thats all you can really do imo.

1.KVD
2.Edwin Evers
3.Davey Hite
are my picks to win.

I hope anyone but Iconelli or the guy from California who won angler of the year two years ago (I can't think of his name right now). I can't stand those two. No dancers or screamers for me please. I'm like the coach who said "when you get in the end zone, act like you've been there before". Same with fishing. I like the guys who act like they've caught one before when they land a nice fish.

I WANT, in no particular order:

1. Charlie Hartley
2. Can't name him; son of the inventor of the Color-C-Lector
3. Mark Davis

I know most don't have a flying chance, but they are some great guys in my opinion. Anyone but Mike Iaconelli...
