Default looking for some places to go fishin

just signed up here, looks like its got some good info!

just started getting back into fishing after a little bit of a hiatus. i dont come from an outdoor sports family so ive had to do a ton of research on my own over the years. (im 23 now).

im looking to go on a fishing trip end of October early november.i live in the chicagoland area and id like to travel south for some warmer weather. im looking at the ozarks. i need a lake where i can rent a boat and get a cabin for a couple days.

ive stumbled upon bull shoals for an option but id like to find some other ideas too. anyone got any ideas? Im thinkin in missouri or arkansas.

thanks guys!

Maniak Google Table Rock too. Excellent fishery especially in your time frame. Good Luck and welcome

I don't think I'd go to Bull Shoals or Table Rock unless you're comfortable with really clear water and sometimes very picky fish. I love fishing the Rock but it gets really tough sometimes. Because of the time of year you're going I'd say Lake of the Ozarks. You can fish anything from shallow, muddy water to deep clear water depending on what part of the lake you're on. Lots and lots of fish and plenty of solid 4-6 pound fish and some bigger ones sprinkled in. Lots of rocks, brushpiles, and of course docks.
