A small group of the 20 of us fisherman and family rented a house in Avon. Tons of fun and of coarse I fished each sunrise. Only missed one day so far due to Halloween party and lots of booze. So I had three new to surf fishing young men join a few trips. They did well with casting..I did well fixing the blow ups and lost tackle.

More pics later...

Break out the smoker and grab some crackers......not much else you can do with those little blues. Still looks like fun.

The pics are from last couple of days. The one with the dawn and dots in the pic is from blowing sand and winds of 35 mph. They hit 40 on Wed night. Missed the big slug of drum by about 30 minutes.

More to follow..

The last day of fishing I decided to return to the point and fish the incoming. Started at 5 pm and fished till 9 pm and only got a lizard fish for all my hard work. The winds where whipping a full 40 mph and you could not hold the wash with 8 ozs. So I settled on the south edge of the wash. Nobody got a single fish that night. Except me and one young man got a run off mystery fish.
The sea was angry..

I put in 40 plus hours of surf time and no big drum. But it is the best time I have ever had and some of the best weather ever.
On the way out today I saw some of the destruction from the hurricane I missed on the way in at 2am... WOW..
Here is the KOA campgrounds and the amusement park in Salvo. Not much left..

They need our business down there, so if you can, go fish Salvo/ Avon or Buxton.. Maybe even catch a big drum..
