Dont buy a Skeet Reese flippin rod. Unless you want to feel like youre fishin with a broom stick. I bought one and am very disappointed.

Hey Walker can you talk her into going about 10-20 bucks more depending on which rod ya want? I own the Jerkbait/topwater that i like using for a spinnerbait and I love the rod. The mojo bass rods range from 100-120 and pretty much cater to every application. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/St_Cr...ge-SCMJCR.html If you can't talk her under 100 have a look at the Cabela's MagTouch, I've used them and I like them quite a bit. Can't really speak to their sensitivity because I've used them for spinnerbaits. http://www.cabelas.com/p-0053453122697a.shtml

If you are looking to spend $100 or less, I'd look around on Ebay for a Falcon Original if it were me.
IMHO, I don't think the Originals can be beat for that price. |

I just recently got an Abu Garcia Vendetta 7'6" MH F (maybe XF, I don't know for sure). I Haven't gotten to use it much yet, but so far I like it. The Mojo Bass rod is another option, but I feel the Vendetta is a bit better balanced. BB

Another vote for the Vendetta! 7'6" H F/XF
The carbonlite is more sensitive, but sure how durable they are though...

Can we please stop recommending rods we've never held, touched, or even seen in person before?

I have a Mojo Bass spinnerbait rod and froggin rod, I love them both never had a problem with either. Never used the flippin stick though. My cousin just bought a Vendetta 7' MH/F spinning rod and the first time out the tip top guide broke off.

$100 rules out the better St. Croix rods unless you can find a Premiere on sale.

Tell ya what walker, I've owned a Cabelas brand flippin rod for over 20 years now and I still use it to this day. It's the Fish Eagle II flippin rod. It's a telescopic 7 1/2 ft. heavy action rod rated for 3/8 - 2 oz. lures. This rod will take a beatin and ask for more!!! Mine is a bit heavy but I was checkin the newer version out recently and they are much lighter in weight than they used to be. Very very nice rods for the price. They run $79.99 in the catalog.

Last year I bought two flipping sticks...
The St. Croix mojo was first and loved it. I bought the BPS carbonLite inlate winter and like it so much more than the Mojo, that the mojo isnt even in the rod locker anymore. I love the reel seat, the feel is great, very light,..the bps rod balancer makes using it effortless. |

THE BEST value right now would be the Kistler Argon - this was a $209 rod just a few months ago. They have been discontinued and are being closed out at $99. I've purchased from this buyer - he's excellent to deal with. You WILL NOT find a better rod for $100 NEW - ANYWHERE.
For your intended use, I would recommend this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/KISTLER-ARGON-AF...item5d28cb0f2d |

Do you mean All Star Big Boy, Cavs?
http://www.allstarrods.com/as_teambigboys.html If you could find made in the U.S.A All Stars I would recommend them 100%. The Team All Stars and Big Boy series are excellent rods at a great price. Quality of the Chinese All Stars doesn't compare to the U.S All Stars though. |
