Default Big Fluke Bass

Was out for a bit today, and caught this bute.

she went just a touch over 12. I have a postal scale here that goes up to 25 lbs, I set a small basket on it then zero it to weigh the fish. This one went 12lbs 4 oz. I also caught 7 more that were over the 5lb mark, with 2 more over 8.

What an unreal day! Ihateforwards, I gotta get you some flukes buddy lol!

A tank? Or a basket? That'd be a big tank to hold a fish like that, while maintaining the oxygen level inside the tank. That's why I bought a prison basket (I like to call it my prison basket) that holds small fish nicely while i can let it sit in a lake.

I entered it, anyhow I have a tank. It used to be used by cisco foods to haul ice cream Until I converted it. It has a 1200gph pond pump and 3 different bubblers, plus a really good spray bar, it hold about 170 gallons of water, and I havent lost a fish in it yet. I also have a system rigged on it to cycle lake water through it to maintain the water temp with the lake. It works great for destressing big fish and releasing them with no harm. I generally do this because our lake has huge *** gators in it, and they ill tear into weakened fish, Ive seen it. So generally when i get a monster I keep her in a tank overnight to let her get her strength back up and they release very well.

You let the gator have whatever it wants . I was fishing a stock tank with Nitro911 a ways back and had one grab a brush hog as I was reeling across weed mat. Fortunately he grabbed it by the tail rather than the hook so I just let him have the brush hog and reeled in an empty hook

Congrats on the beautiful fish, Recon!

SWEET BASS, very nice Hawg indeed. I wouldn't however keep that video up online too long, you aren't supposed to be fishing for Gators.

I actually wasnt fishing for them, and besides I have a permit for out lake, its overrun, and there are alot of nuasance gators here. My best bud is the gw here, no worries, the gator was returned unharmed...this time.

Big thumbs up from me. A 12 1/2 year old fish is hard to replace.
