And the clamp can rotate 90 degrees to clip onto the side of the canoe. There is a 120, 130, and a 140 model. These models have side view and other bells and whistles. |

I have one on square back canoe. I zipp tied the mount under the cross bar. The puck is two part epoxied to the floor beneath it. The trolling motor battery runs the unit..
On my Ganoe I do not have one. But I seldom use it anymore. If I tap the frame of the canoe it spikes the depth finder. Capt Mike

Yes. Have one on my kayak. Ill try to dig up some pics of the way I rigged it, it probably wont work exactly for you too but you could make some modifications. Just think outside the box, and its easy

i have a 13 foot malibu extreme.
this one. http://www.malibukayaks.com/popImg.a...ew_extreme.jpg here is the battery i use.. http://www.kayakfishinggear.com/inde...PROD&ProdID=43 i use an eagle cuda 168 the same unit i use up front on my stratos. the base, wires and transdoucer are the only thing i leave on the yak. that way i can switch the depthfinder between the two boats.. i mounted it on a daul ram mount the other holds my gps.. you all don't know how small you really are till you out a half a dozen miles in the ocean on a yak.. zooker

I use an old lowrence Amo Can. I got it off Ebay for like 18.00. Its old as snot. But it is more accurate than anything i have ever used. Its a portable unit so it comes off the old canoe real easy.

Hey Zook,
How heavy is your battery? I am looking for a light weight battery (30 lbs or less) to run a fish finder and trolling motor for my boat. |

14 pounds roughly
it'll run the fish finder for 3 days straight per charge. but on a high drain outlet like a troller it might last 3 hours tops. zooker

I think that is the kind of battery I am looking for. Where did you get it? I saw a smaller marine battery at Academy but was unsure of how long it would last. I only fish for about 3 hours anyway. I think it would last me longer to because I wouldn't use it continuously. I would use it just to get from point A to B. My biggest use of the trolling motor would be on windy days.
