Default tournaments

I am finally going to start fishing tourneys! My first is the 18th of November. The lake that it is at has alot of bulrushes and laydowns up on the bank. The water is a bit stained. Heres the website about:

http://www.lakemurray.com/

I think that i am going to fish flukes weightless around the laydowns, fish carolina rigs in deeper water, and fish texas rigs in the bulrushes and laydowns. I went about a month ago and caught a nice 2 lber on a trick worm t-rigged. I think my colors for soft plastics are going to be pumpkinseed watermelonseed, and greenpumpkin. Any other tips would be great. Oh, I am fishing as a non-boater, so I am limited to the stuff that I bring. Thanks!

yeah uh...you might be at the mercy of your partner.....bring some baits to throw to get bites....skakeyheads, dropshots should work that time of the year.

Is Murray pretty clear? Im new to SC, only been fishing here a few months. I won our club tournament at Clarks hill though. I learned how to fish in Ca and Az, so clear water is kind of my specialty.

Try Zara Spooks in all the bays and double fluke rigs for the schooling bass if the bass are schooling now.

Rods I always have rigged for fishing tournaments.

1. T-rigged plastic
2. Spinnerbait
3. Crankbait
4. C-rig
5. Topwater

I don't know if you have that many setups, but obviously you can change up the rods. Many folks just let the tourney get into their heads, and really star flying around trying to catch fish here, and then there, and then here, and fish too fast IMO. Since it's his boat even though you know him, be prepared for fishing fast. Just relax and fish like you know how, and if he's fishing too fast for your comfort level watch him, and miomic him. Even on a poor outing in a tourney I always learn something.

i did have 5 setups about a month ago, then 2 of my baitcasters broke and 1 of my spinning,so i only have 2 now,1 baitcaster and 1 spinning. i think my best friend is going to let me borrow 3 of his baitcasters,so i think i will have 5,2 6'6'' mh baitcasters with 15lb line,2 6' medium baitcasters with 15lb line, and a spinning rod with 8lb line.
