Default Knot use for pitchin

I wanted to see what type of knots you use for pitchin, i recently read that using a palomar knot on flourocarbon was a bad idea because it can break really easily. i myself use braid while pitchin and use a palomar, but ive heard a lot of people will use a double uni knot or even a type of snell knot. Thanks

I use either fireline or braid on my pitchin' rig and I always use a polamar knot. I've never had one break. With that said last winter I was at a seminar that Zell Rowland was giving and he did show us that if you don't tie a polamar knot right the friction from tightening the knot will actually fray it and weaken your line.

I have never had a problem with the Palomar Knot but in case you dont feel comfortable using it you might want to try out the San Diego knot. Strong and non-slip!!!!
