Default Smelly Jelly

This stuff is kind of thick in a jar right? How should I dip my jigs in it? Will the jig stink up my tackle box?

Thanks.

oh boy never thought i would get to type this phrase here..
put your finger into the jelly then smear it on the umm.. jig.. don't dip the baits you will be wasting it.. the jelly will last several hours while fishing continued use wears off the jelly.. a non smelly tackle box ?? your joking right??

I know denny about pukes when I open some of the stinky jell, you can always have a handfull of disposable rubber gloves on aboard and put them on to apply the stinky stuff, but that wouldn't be any fun now would it? Us fisheremen are expected to have smelly hands when they come home.

Put a little on your forefinger and rub it between that finger and your thumb, and then work it into the jig's skirt. Be careful to not put it into your eyes. They are a serious irritant for some people like me. I know of one person who got an allergic reaction from it. Other than that, it is some good stuff. People in my area use it in their fishing for salmon and steelhead.

Thanks. I got some and I also bought some jigs. I also caught my second bass on a jig (swimming). It was awesome. I think this stuff really helps.

I went fishing at night, stuck my hand in the small compartment of my tackle bag to grab the pliers, and I stuck my hand in the smelly jelly. I couldn't get it off. The cap came off. I put it in a bag, so it won't smell as bad. You guys had problems with the cap coming off?

I really am tempted to respond w/ an innuendo-type joke but I won't because of the age factor . . .

Just use yer fingers. Go ahead and slather that stuff on, and if I've been messing around with sunscreen or smoking a cigar, I will rub some all over my hands afterward to cover the scents that may be offensive to the bass.

Don't leave the jar in direct sun, because it will get REAL runny, and then you will see it at it's full mess potential.

My favorite Smelly Jelly flavors are triple XXX craw(white in color) and the orange crawfish salt and glitter. I put it on everything from worms to swimbaits.

My wife hates when I wipe the stuff on my jeans and leave them in the laundry room. I just tell her that thats how she should know that I was really out fishing.

I usually keep mine in a ziplock bag along with a little paint brush I use to apply the stuff. It seems to work well. Although the term "Bass Hammer" has been given new meaning with the boys around the office after they smelled a sample..........
