Hard to believe a comic book could last that long.

Up until I was about 16, none of mine lasted long.

Got a relative that has an Amazing Spiderman #1 and Fantastic Four #1. He worked in the industry for a while and he drew a bunch of books for some of the smaller companies. Nothing famous.

That's pretty cool. A lot of the artist, even the less known ones, have some loyal fans.

Once upon a time i had quite an impressive collection of comic books. Where they went i dunno. Wish i still had them though. Not for the money thing, yes.i like to read them. Although i can't get into the new ones that are out today. Generation gap? Maybe.

I used to until I got married. I will pass them onto my kids. I have a few interesting ones. A part of me wouldn't mind starting up again but that would bite into the fishing funds.

The newer ones are a good bit more violent and more like soap operas, bama. I like a few of them, but you have to be prepared to buy a ton of the comic you like, and likly a ton of cross-overs in other comics to ever finish a story. Not to mention most comics cost $3.99 now. And I used to complain about paying 75 cents for them.

Ah, Spiderman, Thor, Sgt. Fury. Superman, Batman. I still have a box full along with some Mads, and a few others. I remember my mother used to always ask me where I was going after school. I told her we (friends) were going to read comic books. That was the code for smoking. I quit a long time ago. Yep a comic and a cold glass bottle of Pepsi was a quarter.

So far this is the most valuable one I have. I saw one sell for $150 on one of the comic auction site a few weeks ago. Mine isn't as high a grade as that one was. But the longer I hold on to it, the more it'll be worth.

We sold some years ago at a comic book show or two. We had already pulled the more valuable books or the ones we felt would increase the most in value and put them aside. Made a little $$ off the ones we sold at the shows but realized that it would take too many weekends to sell them all off. We tried to sell the bunch but got riddiculous offers like $50 for over 1500 books so we boxed them up and they're stored away. One day we'll break them all out and sell them. Then me and the monkey will have a sweet time at the tackle store.....

True. I don't know if I got any extra copies of his stuff. I do know that he did sign some of the first ones that got printed. Strange that regular books are more valuable with the authors signature but not with comic books.

I would have thought that signed copies would be worth more too. But a lot of collectors seem to think it defaces the book.
