look for fish near wood, try a moving bait, spinnerbait, crankbait, or jerkbait.

The most productive baits in the fall for me are hard and soft jerkbaits, rat-l-traps, and spinnerbaits. Now I dont always catch them on those baits, it depends on the conditions and the mood of the fish. Once I find the fish I'll start fishing a Carolina Rig or a Texas Rig, and if they dont bite those bigger bait rigs, I'll start throwin shaky heads and split shot rigs with finesse worms. It has been really tough in the places I fish and the only way to catch them lately is to deadstick a splitshotted finesse worm. Hope this helps!

It's dropped pretty drastically in Central FLA here as well; we've been catching quite a few just on finesse worms, topwater rogues, and rat-l-traps.

had a club tourney sat. it was funny because everybody caught fish but they were caught doing so many different things. usually there is only a few patterns but not this time of year. some guys caught theirs by burning spinnerbaits parallel to the bank, others caught theirs on a dropshot, some were caught flipping and pitching docks, we caught ours on jigs and crankbaits. the list goes on and on. this time of year the fish are going crazy feeding up for winter. it can be frustrating though because you may load the boat with fish today and go back tomorrow and not catch a fish, thats fall fishing at it's best but when it's good it's really good.

You may try the backs of creeks. Shad will be back there and the bass should follow.

what is your water temp? i would imagine that it is a little early for you to be hitting the backs of creeks quite yet. i would start towards the mouths of the creeks and work my way back hitting points and transition banks. the better points will probably be the ones that stretch the closest to the main channel. like i said i would start here but work my way towards the back of the creeks. they will eventually find their way to the back of the creeks like bassnman said but i would guess you are a few weeks from that yet.
