what bait do yall use during fall and winter?

For me it is crank baits and reaction baits. I also fish the dropshot quite a bit. I fish from the shore so I am limited to what to fish with but I have good success fishing cranks on riprap banks on sunny days and winging dropshots out off points that I know drop off. Try a small shad fly on a dropshot during the winter. I have tied some of my own little ones with hooks and thread. Fish crankbaits at a steady retrieve and shake the dropshot steady in one spot for a period of time. Try a double bait presentation. This works for suspending bass at different levels. The points I fish have some brush on them to work. A lot of people are going to tell you to use jigs but I have only had a little success with them in the winter and I mainly do better with dropshot rigs with small flys and cranks. Even if there is ice on the lake and snow on the ground and you guides are all frozen up.

Big baits. 10" Texas and Carolina rigged worms, jigs, Ika's all worked at a snails pace. Spooks, Poppers, Jekbaits twitched with long pauses, and buzz baits. I've had luck with small 1/8 oz Poppers fished really slow. In Winter / Fall I always start big and adjust to smaller sizes if lock jaw has set in. If all else fails, go with live bait. I used to be reluctant to fish a lowly crawler but as one of my buddies once said, "we fish to catch fish, not to practice casting." Many a night have been saved from a sure skunk by tying on a #6 livebait hook, 1/4 oz bullet weight Carolina rigged, and a fat crawler.

A suspending jerkbait and a jig-n-pig. I'll also ise a spinnerbait depending on the water temp.

topwaters,cranks,spinners and in the winter,slow falling worms,im am yet to try the tiki this winter,since i have only used for about two months.also white tubes.imo,they appear to the fish as a frozen crawfish,also be aware that they will not move very far for food

LMAO, you guys down south are promoting topwaters like you owned some stock in the companies. It depends on where you are located, but winter here, or even late fall, a topwater won't get anything done for you. It always comes down to conditions, so fish the conditions.

You tell em lizards. Topwaters have there time but I'd rather be throwin a jig,slow cranking a big crank or big spinner and every once in awhile throw a durn ole lizard.

it was chilly this mornin,first time in a long time,topwaters will work well in the early,middle fall,but when it colder they will bite jigs very little.her they seem to like tubes alot,i have never caught anyfish on one yet but my grandfather was catching them like crazy,in the dead cold winter!!!
