Default Pflueguer Patriarch Centrifugal brakes?

This is a pretty novice question, but I cannot figure it out. If you own a patriarch, how do I accsess the centrifugal brakes? Thanks.

You push in the side plate twist and pull it till it comes off, should open up that way, if does not, than it's broke, Happened to me with a BPS reel, Had to take it back and get an other.

There should be a Pflueger emblem on the side plate opposite the handle. You push that little emblem in and twist the side plate either up or down, ( I don't have one so I'm not sure which). That emblem releases the side plate.

Thanks guys I'll try it, but I don't think the patriarch has that emblem. I think it has something to do with the thumb screw.

Unscrew the thumbscrew on right front at top. Twist left sideplate up at the front.

Which Patriarch is it? They actually made a lefty for the first time this year, so I guess it should be said the thumbscrew is on the side with the handle, near the top. It won't come out, but only loosens. Once loose, the other side of the reel should turn and come off. It's a very snug fit, so you have to turn the sideplate pretty hard.

Be very careful when doing this on the water! It is very easy to drop and lose the sideplate for your expensive Patriarch.

Yeah I figured it out. I feel dumb, but I have always had magnetic brakes before this reel with the dual-braking. Thanks for all your help.
