Sunday Potomac Report
What a difference a day makes. Hot muggy weather and an outgoing tide resulted in many good LGMouth on topwater poppers. In fact the first cast caught a fish and a sweet fish it was.
Many more fell to plop of a popper. Lost count of the number of fish. Maybe 20 or so. Fly rods ready but not used. Capt Mike

Man, can you fish the potomac successfully from the shore? Sounds like those bass love a topwater, what kind of popper do you use, and in what color?

Potomac
Shore fishing really tough at best. Grass and bugs will eat you up.. Access is severly limited...
As far a popper is concerned any one you can cast far and make talk. "PLOP" "PLOP" Clear water means super stealth even at night.. Capt Mike

Northern Va, about 10 minutes away from the north fork of the shenandoah. About an hour away from harpers ferry. Frederick county is right near winchester.

You mean the south fork? I have never fish that part, only the north fork, with nothing due to the big fish kill. I don't care, I haven't been river fishing in a while, and have wanted to fish the potomac bad, so anywhere, reasonable.
