Faded Hull
Whats a good solution to a faded hull other than painting?

Depends on how faded! I wes sanded w/ 800 grit but you could see some differance in where the decals once were

1000 grit sand paper the entire thing them do a 3 step wax job..

my grandpa says theres some kinda fiberglass cleaner goo like substance you wax on.. but with my car experience in waxing if its faded wax makes it worse.. my grandpa says that it USED to be a solid green now its faded

with the way you have it broken down. it would be easier for you to go ahead and repaint it now, rather than wait. if i had a boat stripped down like that. i would go and repaint it. of course that is if you have the tools to do it with. or you could have the vocation school do it for you all you have to pay for is the paint/materials. or at least that was all we did way back when i was in school, lol. check it out.

ha.. i dobut we even have a painting class.. i have a paint sprayer/compresser,oil/air filter and regulator.. but i have no way to store the motor.. other wise it would have BEEN flipped over..
how do you store the thing? i have a come-along.. but what can i do? |

got a hoist for the motor? hoist it onto a saw hrse. then you can repaint hte hull. or use A LOT OF TAPE, LOL. after removing the motor. cover it with garbage bags.

hmm..never thought of a saw horse.. yeah i've got a come-along
might do that.. but idk if i'll still flip the boat over.. might but paints expensive and i'd have to fully sand it and the paints decent but is faded |

well then all you need to do is sand it a little, wet sand it, and then put a nice couple of coats of clear. that outa do it pal. post some pics ok?
