Question What do you think?

I’ve been fishing for 20 something years now. I have been to many different holes. Many times I have seen fish surface or jump. I still after so many years have that want to cast past that jump spot and reel back through it. What do you think? Am I just wasting good fishing time? I do catch fish this way, but on most occasions I usually just end up reeling for fun.

I keep an extra pole rigged with a floating bubble gum worm. When I see a fish swirl, I throw it and usually I catch a bass that way. Try it

What action do you use with it? I am always in for some new ideas. I am one of those dumbies that fishes mostly lures. I run jigs and sometimes worms. But I mostly enjoy lures. I dont know why.

dts. If you are talking to me? I have a 6ft medium action spinning rod with the bubble gum 6in tied on, and throw it at the swirl, and if the fish doesn't take it right away, I reel in and cast again. But after the second cast the fish don't hit, then I take it that he has moved on. Happy fishing

If you know what he was after, then throw that. Meaning was it chasing a fish(throw a fluke), or a grasshopper(rebel makes em), or a frog(you can buy them anywhere)? One thing I have to re-deploy is this. When you see it happen if it doesn't hit something immediately when you cast it to it. Then throw a Bass Fly out, and let it sit there for awhile, with very tiny twitches, with very long pauses. Many times they are just hitting a bug that was only the surface, an easy to get. I have forgotten to use this often, and everytime I read a post like this, I can remember it now, but never seem to on the water DOH!!! LOL

Most of the time, I don't catch anything after casting to a swirl or jump. However, it's hard to resist. I know many of those jumpers are carp, not bass, and the ones that are bass, well, I guess I don't know how to get 'em.

Yep. More than a few. True, a lot of time they are carp, but if you don't throw in there I guarantee you won't catch it.

if they are bustin bait i use 2 differant lures a chug bug or a lil george. 2 weeks ago i cleaned up some white perch on the chug bug. but it was line wrapped around the front hook that made the differance. they wuld not hit it on top but just under the surface.
