New Build
Well I have been cutting most of my chit chat nights to finish this one up for a guy's wife. It is wrapped in LSU Purple & Yellow, Geaux Tigers in an Eeyore tone hahahaha. It is built on a MHX 843 MH-F blank with a 10" cork split grip. I used Fuji Alconite guides (Dbl Foot 10,8,7, (5) Single Foot 6s, and Tip 6) and Fuji exposed reel seat.

Came out looking great Sunshine!,haha!...That yellow tiger looks sweet. She is really gonna like this rod.I also like the one yellow guide
Yea we do those tirm bands the same...Apparently,there's a way to wrap em 'without' carrying over the main line...I havent figured it out yet though.

Except for the colors, it looks real good, Bubba. I'm impressed.

Great job Bubba! Turned out really, really nice! You're work is fundamentally solid, nice epoxy work and nice straight trim bands. Great job! I agree that the black logo looks sharp too!

Looks good Bubba....the only flaw I see is bubbles in your epoxy on a couple of your line guides.

My mistake Bubba....At first glance it reminded me of problem I run into occasionally dealing with automotive clearcoats called "Solvent pop" where solvents are trapped below a skinned over surface and can't evaporate and causes tiny bubbles that look like dust....I hear epoxy kinda does the same sort of thing if you "mix it too vigorously" or if you use wood to mix it with instead of metal.

No thing KF, I should have cleaned them better hahahahaha. I have the same problems though with epoxy. Especially late releases from the thread that won't appear for a little while. While I am applying, I keep a flexy straw in my mouth and constantly blow on the mix while I am applying. A straight straw will allow spit to build up and run out the end on the wrap, and then there is cussing and all that other good stuff. But I take it and bend it up where it gets trapped in the turn. Plus I will pop it with a alcohol burner to help heat the top and release the bubbles better.

The rod looks great. I am like Daniel in that I am not thrilled with the color selection but the rod looks great! It would look better if it were maroon and white (Mississippi State) or blue and white (Kentucky).

I have a guy asking about a USM rod, but nothing official yet. As long as it helps fund the rod building monkey,I will wrap all the LSU colors they want hahahaha.

Great looking rod! Maybe time to come out with an entire NCAA lineup of rods? lol Now THAT would be cool!
