Mostly Cloudy
14 Mar 2011 - Lake Guntersville Fishing Report –Today, I was joined by Tracey and Wayne from the Georgia – Alabama line region for a little fun and research. The water temperature on for the most part was 54.5 to 59 degrees all though today. Local weather was mostly cloud and warmed to about 72 today. The main river channel has improved is flowing fairly well at 100,000+ CFS flow rate and heavy stain to it. We fished the middle to lower end using rattle traps, square billed crank baits, Brush Hogs, Tightline Jigs and chatter baits. We managed to catch a lots of good keeper fish working 1/2oz football Jigs in the Guntersville Special color with Mega Craws as the trailer and square bill crank baits. Our better fish came from 4-12 FOW on jigs with one except a 6 pound fish that was caught on a 2.5 Square Bill in 5 FOW. If you are going to be on the water this week please wear your life vest the river system still has a lot of stuff/garbage floating. I have a few of days available at the end of March and I’m already booking days for the April and May, make your reservations now for some great action on Guntersville. “Let’s go fish’ in”
