10 Apr 2011 - Lake Guntersville Fishing Reports – The past couple of days has been mostly pre-tournament planning/scouting with clients from North Georgia and South Alabama. The fishing remains good on most days, challenging on others. Congratulation’s go out to Wayne Boyd of Cedar Bluff, AL client and friend of mine for his 8.04 Bucket Head which earned him Big Fish as the boater in yesterday’s BFL on Lake Guntersville. The mornings started out with slick waters and warm air temps! (A welcome site from earlier this week) The winds picked up each day shortly after 9-10am. Water temps have improved greatly starting out at 63 to 65 and by late yesterday afternoon we found some 72 plus water. The best action the past few days has Lizards, Brush Hogs, Senkos, and jigs in mostly green pumpkins and June bug. Look for grass, stumps and lay downs in eight feet or less. A key factor is simply being in the right place at the right time with the right presentation. Our better fish came on football head jig by Tightline Jigs on secondary points in the coves, check for a spinner bait bite every stop, we caught a few over the last couple days on a bleeding minnow spinner bait. With forecasted high temps of 75-80 degrees, the fishing is only going to get better on both Guntersville and Nickajack in the coming weeks with both lakes showing signs of a all out fish producing April and May! I have few days left in April, I'm already booking days for the May and June, make your reservations now for some great mid spring action on Guntersville and Nickajack. It won't be long and we'll see the steady spinner bait and top water bite on both lakes "Let's go fish' in"
”If you ever want to get down to Alabama and hit Guntersville you want the hardest working guide out there, Jake Davis. Mid South Bass Guide, talk about a guy dedicated to getting anglers on fish!”
