5 Oct 2011, Lake Guntersville Fishing Reports – This morning, Bill King Sr. and Bill Jr. from East Tennessee joined me on Lake Guntersville for Bill Sr’s birthday. We fished the Mid-lake area out of Goose Pond. The guys had a good time and really enjoyed the day, despite those little black bugs everywhere. They caught several fish, had few of near misses (blowups) and put a good limit together. The fish main more active for the first 2-3 hours of the day and are still holding up in scattered grass, some of our best fish came in 3-8 FOW just off the mats. Most fish where in the 1-3 pound range. Water temps hung around 69 degrees for the most part. Our better fish came on Assassinator Clacker spinner baits, Spooks and XR-75 traps. We also caught fish on, swim baits, Sammy’s, square bill 2.5 crank baits and El Grande Sapo Frogs. Versatility is/will be key in the next few weeks as we transition into the fall bite. I have the days available in October and we’re already booking November! Make your reservations now for some great action on Guntersville, Nickajack or Tim’s Ford. We supply all fishing gear, lures at no additional cost you and 110% dedication to making your trip successful. “Let’s go fish’ in”
