Oct 09 & 10, 2012 Lake Guntersville Report – On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week; I had the pleasure of fishing with clients from Birmingham AL to New York. We spent both days covering water from Mill Creek to Goose Pond catching fish in 3-16 FOW using Assassinator Clacker Spinner Baits, Tightline Jigs on channel edges, SPRO Frogs and Buzz Baits around scattered grass on the back side of the channels. While everyone caught fish in the 2 to 5 pound range, make no mistake we worked for them as active feeding times are short and changing daily with weather conditions. Water temperatures have dropped a little to 70-72 degrees; look for them to continue to drop with the cooler nights. The shad are loading up in the grass and with the cooler nights the fishing should only improve from here on out as the bass start feeding for the winter. We’re taking reservations for the winter and spring months already; I have days and guides available make your reservations now for some great grass flipping and frog action on Guntersville or fall smallmouth fishing on Tim’s Ford.
