Oct 20-24, 2012 Lake Guntersville Report – I had the pleasure of fishing with several new and returning clients this past week. Each day we fished a different section of the lake ranging from the State Park to Mud Creek. While everyone caught fish and had a good time, make no mistake it was a challenge, as active feeding times are short and changing daily with weather conditions. We found fish in 1-16 FOW using Assassinator Clacker Spinner Baits, Tightline Jigs on channel edges, SPRO Frogs and Buzz Baits around scattered grass on the back side of the channels. Water temperatures have dropped a little to 64-66 degrees; look for them to continue to drop with the cooler nights. In the past week some of the grass has started to break up due to the winds from last Friday and the return of the winter drawdown current. With the cooler nights the fishing should only improve from here on out as the bass start feeding for the winter. We’re taking reservations for the winter and spring months already; I have days and guides available make your reservations now for some great grass flipping and frog action on Guntersville or fall smallmouth fishing on Tim’s Ford.
