Jan 20-23, 2013 Lake Guntersville – I fished this past Sunday and found a slow, but good pattern with Jamie Shay in 3-8 FOW. With the water dropping and recent cold snap, Mike Gerry and I ventured out to verify patterns and locate fish for some upcoming trips. All I say is, Guntersville is in full swing with a great trap bite and flipping bite. We fished up lake above Mink Creek concentrating on back channel grass lines and docks. We found our fish in 2-15 FOW all on Tightline football head jigs with Missile Baits trailers, Rattle traps and D-Bomb’s from Missile Baits. Water temperatures started out at 46 and climbed to 50.3 degrees by the time we left. Our better fish came after 10 in the morning flipping D-Bombs. For those looking to kick off the year with a 100% payback tournament, the 2nd Annual Rat-L-Trap Classic will be on 2 February 2013 out of Goose Pond.
