HOTTT!!!!!

The last couple of days have been very "HOT" and also very slow with the fishing. However, when you do find a few fish they have been very good quality. There are still a lot of fish schooling on the surface and having a rod rigged with a spoon or a Rat-L-Trap is good to have close to grab and throw as soon as you see these fish busting on top. The main consistent pattern is still using 1/2 to 3/4 oz. swimbaits and 1/2 to 3/4 oz. Choo Choo Lures Jigs along river ledge grass lines. The crankbait bite has become more productive along some of the deeper backwater ledges. The ticket to a great crankbait bite is using your electronics in finding the bait before you even fish an area, and when you find the bait the fish are normally close by. It's "HOT", so take care of the fish and take a picture and release ASAP. Have fun, Mike Carter
