Sunny and scattered thunderstorms
I took out a client late this afternoon for some evening fishing. When we launched shortly after 4pm, the weather was hot, humid, and sunny. We ran down towards the State Park to fish a submerged weedbed. Soon we had two nice grade fish in the boat. Both fish came on a green pumpkin 10" worm.
Thunderstorm clouds were moving in from the north and I suggested we return to the launch prior to the storms hitting the lake. The boat was barely back on the trailer when the wind, rain, and lightning moved in. The storms lasted for an hour.
Once the storms moved out of the area, we headed back out. This time we headed towards Goose Pond. Along a grass line we enticed a couple more bass to hit the worm.
As darkness was approaching, we switched to topwater baits and landed some of the schooling bass.
The thunderstorms did seem to hurt the bite but overall, we caught 10 or 12 bass over a 2 1/2 hour period.
Come fish with me as I have open dates.
