Sunny, brisk NW winds, and bluebird skies
Tim and I were on the lake at daybreak. Quickly we discovered the one foot chop due to the brisk NW winds. I would estimate the winds were 15mph or a little stronger. We tried some topwater lures but they were difficult to throw into the wind. The boat would drift too fast if we went with the wind.
Both of us began tossing a 10" worm and it was not too long before Tim had two fish into the boat. He did an excellent job detecting the bite considering the bow in his line due to the brisk winds. It was not long until I heard him say, "I have another fish on". This largemouth bass was a quality fish. It weighed 5 lbs 10 oz.
We headed upriver and had a few bites on our second stop. Again, it was difficult to feel the bite due to the brisk winds. Two more places resulted in no fish. It was mid-morning and Tim needed to head to work.
It was wonderful to make a new friend, discuss many things going on in the world, and catch some bass.
