Sunny and cold to start
5 Oct 2010 - Lake Guntersville – Coty from Cumberland KY, joined me today on Gunterville. We started at BB Comer working our way down to Goose Pond area, we found fish in 6-8 FOW using flukes, Sammy’s and Buzz baits. The frog bite was not happening…at least for us. It was chilly start this morning at 39 degrees; however most of the fish we caught was prior to noon. Before noon we had 9 solid fish 2 to 3.5 pound range and several short fish after lunch we only managed half dozen or so hits and 3 fish. The bite quickly shut down with the arrival of 10-15 mph winds from the north/northeast. Water color ranges from extremely stained to clear depending on what area of the lake your fishing. Water temp’s ranged from 65 to 69 degrees today as we departed at 4:00pm…Guntersville is primed for a great fall bite to start any day now. Shad have staged on the front side of the pockets, points some have moved inside pockets for warmer water, we did find them in some select main channel mats as well. Make your reservations for a trip soon we have few dates available for last two weeks of October and have already started booking into 1st week of November...."Let's go fish'in
