Clear, Winds Calm
8-9 Oct 2010 - Lake Guntersville – Spent the last to days on Guntersville. Yesterday, I fished with a great family from Huntsville Area…The Wall’s…we managed to hunt up just over some good fish for the day. Started up river from Goose Pond, some top water action but for the most part it was slow…we moved up river to some road beds and than it was on…mom started catching fish on a shaky head and pulled out to a 2 fish over dad and Jim…I gave Jim a crank bait about that time and all 6’3” 230 pounds was thrown it further than anyone I’ve scene in a long time…him and dad quickly tied things up…Today, I joined my partner Mike Gerry from Fish Lake Guntersville Guide Service (www.fishlakeguntersvilleguideservice.com) for a group trip…put in at Waterfront, went down lake to Mill Creek area…it was tough this morning. The guys missed a couple fish on top water than the wind picked up. Went to the ledges and they missed a couple more deep. Finally, caught some fish in the back of Sebold by the sail boats working a fluke in 2-5 foot of water over scattered grass. Guntersville as a whole is still hit and miss for the most part...nothing giant on these two trips…Jim missed the biggest fish out of both days on a buzz bait. A couple of my previous clients called tonight to let me know they came in the top 5 in a tournament out of Spring Creek. Said they fished the Browns Creek area that I had shown them had their limit early on top water. Make your reservations for a trip soon we have few dates available for last two weeks of October and have already started booking into 1st week of November...Smallmouth fishing should start picking up in mid November on Tims Fords.
