12 Oct 2010 - Lake Guntersville –I was joined today by Len and Melissa from South Louisiana, they WACKED’EM…this was positively the best day on Guntersville in a month of trips. Action was slow to start; we only had one blow up on top water. Pulled off the thick weeds and started pitching a ½ oz football head jig and spinner baits to docks and wood mixed in with grass. First, cast bam 3.5 pounds of fighting mean green fish. That was followed by Len with a 5 plus change fish and it just kept going throughout the day. We spent the entire day working scattered grass, docks and wood structure in grass on the lower end of the lake. Our best five of the 20-25 fish boated would have made 20 pounds easy. Water temps are holding between 72-75 degrees, clarity was a couple of feet. To put the below pictures in perspective for you…Len is all of 6’3” and 270 plus. Make your reservations for a trip soon we have few dates available for last two weeks of October and have already started booking into 1st week of November...Smallmouth fishing should start picking up in mid November on Tims Fords. "Let's go fish'in
