Windy and Clouds
8 Mar 2011 - Lake Guntersville Fishing Report - Today, I enjoyed by Gary from Huntsville AL. This morning we started with a water temperature of 51.2 and ended the day with 52.3 degrees. Mostly cloudy all morning with 15-25 mph winds from the southwest, our biggest obstacle was the 150,000 CFS flow rate and 2-3 foot waves. We fished the North and South Sauty, rattle traps, square billed crank baits, Brush Hogs, Tightline Jigs and swim baits. We managed to catch a couple good fish working 1/2oz football Jigs in the Guntersville Special color with Mega Craws as the trailer, and a slick on crank baits worked in 3 to 12 FOW. We also missed several fish main because of the strong winds. Our best fish was just over 5.2-6 pounds wind and waves made it impossible to get a good read on scales. If you are going to be on the water this week please wear your life vest the river system is extremely dangerous with this much water flow. I have a few of days available at the end of March and I’m already booking days for the April and May, make your reservations now for some great action on Guntersville. “Let’s go fish’ in”
