Windy and clear skies
06 Apr 2011 - Lake Guntersville Fishing Reports – What a day, I had the pleasure of fishing with the Taylor boyz from Bad Poncho Outdoors for a complete review of my guide service, also returning clients Harold and Darrel Jr. from East Tennessee in a follow boat for a little pre-tournament planning/scouting. The morning started out with slick waters and cool air temps which did not last long! The winds picked up again today shortly after we arrived at our first stop. By mid morning we had 2-3 foot rollers on the main channel made it tough fishing for the most part. Water temps started out at 58.8 and by the days end we found some 64.1. The best action today came on brush hogs and jigs. Our better fish including a 5.5 and 7.45 came on football head jig by Tightline Jigs on secondary points in the coves. Overall, fishing is great but the “catching” remained tough for the third day in a row. With forecasted high temps of 75-80 degrees, the fishing is only going to get better on both Guntersville and Nickajack in the coming weeks with both lakes showing signs of a all out fish producing April and May! I have few days left in April, I'm already booking days for the May and June, make your reservations now for some great mid spring action on Guntersville and Nickajack. It won't be long and we'll see the steady spinner bait and top water bite on both lakes "Let's go fish' in"
