Mostly Cloudy

20-21 Apr 2011 - Lake Guntersville Fishing Reports – Over the last two days I have had a lot of fun fishing with Shay from Hendersonville TN and Jason for the Great State of Michigan down for vacation. We caught fish both days and enjoyed the great weather. Both Jason and Shay averaged 15-20 fish per day mostly 2-3.5 pound fish, however they had several over 4 pounds the last few days that made it in the boat, including a couple over 5. Water temps are steady at 68 to 72 degrees in the coves off the mid lake area. Our better fish came on wacky rigged senko’s, chatter baits, spinner bait and football head jigs by Tightline Jigs on secondary points in the coves. Today and actually it started last night, we found a great top water bite using buzz baits by Assassinator Baits, www.assassinatorbaits.com, the current Day on the Lake record setting lure used by Elite Angler Dustin Wilks. The key factor simply remains being in the right place at the right time with the right presentation. I'm already booking days for the May and June, make your reservations now for some great late spring/early summer time action on Guntersville and Nickajack. It won't be long and we'll see the steady spinner bait and top water bite on both lakes "Let's go fish' in"
