22 Apr 2011 - Lake Guntersville Fishing Reports – Today, Mr. Steve Upchurch, from North Carolina, joined me for a day on the lake catching and learning his way around. We caught fish at every stop except for one. Most fish where in the 2.5-4 pound range, Both Steve and I lost fish today well over 5 pounds. Water temps are steady at 68 to 72 degrees in the coves off the mid lake area and the main lake is starting to warm to the mid 60’s. Our better fish came on wacky rigged senko’s, t-rigged Ol’Monsters, spinner bait and football head jigs by Tightline Jigs on secondary points in the coves. Again today, we had a top water bite just not as good as yesterday’s, still using Assassinator buzz baits, www.assassinatorbaits.com, I'm already booking days for the May and June, make your reservations now for some great late spring/early summer time action on Guntersville and Nickajack. It won't be long and we'll see the steady spinner bait and top water bite on both lakes "Let's go fish' in"
