6 May 2011 - Lake Guntersville Fishing Reports and My Travels – Sorry, its been a couple weeks from last report, had to take a short vacation to Florida, (yes, I went fishing) I included a couple photos of them Florida Bass on Lake Rousseau and than returned to help some friends with clean up from the storms. Its back to work, today I was joined again today by a father son team from East Tennessee for a day on the lake, yesterday a good friend of mine joined me for a little scouting. Both days we all caught fish on every stop, it appears that the shad spawn is starting. I notice yesterday and today in the warmer pockets balls of shad around grass. Most fish where in the 2-3 pound range, I lost the only fish today that would have been over 4 pounds. Water temps are steady at 66 to 70 degrees as of this afternoon. Our better fish came on Tightline Football Head Jig’s (Black/Blue) and t-rigged Brush Hogs and Assassinator “Clacker” Spinnerbaits. We had a top water bite late yesterday afternoon using Assassinator buzz baits, www.assassinatorbaits.com, I have days available this month. I'm already booking days for the June and July, make your reservations now for some great late spring/early summer time action on Guntersville and Nickajack. It won't be long and we'll see the steady spinner bait and top water bite on both lakes "Let's go fish' in"
