COLD, WINDY !!!
It was great to get a break from fishing on the "Big-G" and get the chance to go to Neely Henry Lake and get into some Coosa River fish. With the cold front that had moved in to go along with blue bird skies and windy conditions, I was very concerned on how fishing was going to be. Well that did not last long because the fish were more aggressive than I thought they would be. We fished Shakers, spinnerbaits, and shallow crankbaits along some of the dead grass areas and stump rows and it seemed each area we fished had some good quality fish in it. This was a very suprising day of fishing, just when you thought you had conditions that called for a slow day of fishing it turned out to be a successful day of catching some good fish. The water temp averaged in the upper 50's and was down a little from normal level. My client was camera shy so a couple of the fish in the pictures were his and each fish was released after the fish was caught and the picture was taken. There is a very good article in this month's Bassmaster magazine on page 12, if you get the chance check it out. I think most of the fishermen will find it very interesting. Have fun, Mike Carter
