Weiss Lake (night) Fishing Report

I got yesterday with the same gentleman from earlier in the week for some more night fishing, but this time we decided to take a break from the "Big-G" and fish for some Spotted Bass on Weiss Lake. We tried for a late evening topwater bite but had little success in putting anything productive together. I was just waiting for dark to arrive so we could get the fun started, and it did!! When it finally got dark we started using 1/2 oz. spinnerbaits by Choo Choo Lures and slow rolling them along some of the deeper points and ledges and it wasn't long before my friend had on one of those Big Spots that decided he had a better place to go than to the boat, and after a couple of jumps the fish not only left the area but it also took Ben's spinnerbait with it. This was a nice fish and it wasn't long beofre he had another that put on an acrobatic night show and this time instead of breaking his line the fish shook a couple of times and came off. After a frustrating begining for the night, things finally calmed down a little, especially my friend, and we were able to put a few in the boat. The most relaxing thing about fishing last night was that we seen "0" boats after it got dark, and along with a nice cool breeze and good light from the moon and the Light Strike Black Lights on the boat it really made for a great night of fishing.
