High Pressure, Clear Skies, Low around 41, High around 70, Post cold front

Fished the Heartland Pro Am and finished in 15th on what proved to be a very tough day. 1/3 of the field blanked and there were only 3 or 4 limits weighed in on the pro side. Lake was about 13 or 14 feet high and rising. Post spawn. Threw Zara Spooks over flooded green bushes. Caught two keeper large mouth that went 4.63 pounds. Caught 2 short smallies on a mojo rig with a finesse worm working the old shoreline and the outside of the flooded vegetation. Tried to flip a jig and shakey head in the bushes but that didn't work out well for me. The early topwater bite was pretty good, but the bites were very few after the sun got high.
