Sunny, Clear sky, Warm 55-70 degrees
Headed out pretty early (around 8 am) to tag along while my friends prefished for the "shootout in the south bay" tournament.
(Thats why im a little late in posting the report so no one would get report untill the tournament was over)
Early on i snagged my line and lost almost all of it so i was done for pretty early in the day due to the fact that i had not extra reels or line laying around.
So heres how everyone else did:
caught a small 1 pounder early in the day on a spoon.
as the day progressed things slowed down until afternoon (11am-2pm)
Then everyone was fishing dropshots (wacky rigged with pumpkin green pumpkin senkos)
then caught 3 more 1-2 pounders in deep water.
the one thing i did notice while out on the lake was the amazing visibility (water) at anderson.
and there were tons of schools of small shad in the coves and along the docks.
Overall it was a great experience and i had a blast out on the boat.
Water levels are still a little low but hopefully will go up soon in time for the spring.
all i can say is: dropshot, dropshot, dropshot.
and if your fishing at anderson or anywhere in the nearby area be sure to check out coyote bait and tackle.
they have a great selection and a helpful staff.
