Calm early with strong southerly wind developing around 10 am, partly cloudy and very comfortable.
Visited lake Seminole for the first time on the 9th. Didn't have much knowledge of the lake so I started fishing close to the ramp, around an island facing towards the main lake. Very quickly caught a nice 4 pound bass on a spinnerbait, I am almost certain it was a bedding fish from how fat it was. Continued to catch several bass, pickeral and mudfish all shallow on different spinnerbaits, mostly it was a white booyah with white willow blades but I also switched up and used a hank park classic and teased out a couple other fish. Didn't do too much on the main lake, it was more backwater with the exception of the first couple fish. The dam looked like niagra falls and there was good current, especially in the various chutes and passages. Did find some clear water up north coming from what has to be a spring near another ramp.
Also fished Ochessee Pond for a few hours for lunch, saw some nice cypress trees, got a dink on a strike king crankbait, but all around was not nearly as successful. Did talk to an old timer who said he had recently got some good fish on topwater, I think I will go back and give it another try sometime. Water is very clear there.
