I thought I would share with my Riverbassin.com friends why I live and fish in Georgia. To begin with, I was born here and left for a short time to “see the world”. This was partially because my parents were in the service and I was a dependent and really didn't have a choice. It was a great experience though! I lived in Germany for 3 years when I was a teenager and fished the rivers there mostly for pike. Later after I got out of high school, I went into the Air Force and was stationed in Phoenix, Arizona. I had the opportunity while there to travel to northern Arizona and fish on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation for small mouth bass in the Black River. In two days of wade fishing one of the most beautiful rivers I have ever seen, I caught 110!! That was an experience I'll never forget!Smile It's hard though to forget where you came from. Before getting out of service, I also had the opportunity to see South Vietnam! Didn't do any fishing while there though. Frown After getting out of the Air Force, I returned to Georgia where I will live out my remaining days chasing bass on our beautiful rivers. We've got a lot of them and by only experiencing them can you also know the love for fishing them and the warm & fuzzy feeling it leaves inside you. To say the least, “it can become an addicton”! I've made a lot of friends over the last few years with many of my “river fishin” buddies. Each float is always a memory I store away in my memory bank to recall at will when the weather or other situations prevent me for being on the river. Anyway, I wanted to leave with you a great example of what Georgia has to offer. The pictures below are two personal best from this year, 2009. My good friend, Rather B. Fishin (Glenn) and I hit a new river neither of us had ever fished. The photos speak for themselves. My new personal best (7lb. 11oz.) largemouth and Rather B. Fishin's largemouth (5lb. 5oz.). Looking forward to many more like this one with my fellow Riverbassin.com friends!!
