Morning temp was 48 air temp. water temp 68....heat of the day air temp upper 60s and sunny
For the second time this week we smallmouth fished Brookville lake. Monday with Woody and today with Denny.
The fish are starting to head to the back of the big creeks, but not many shad are visable yet, that could change in a couple
of days. Topwater buzzbait got me 3 smallies today, all small. Most of the day was throwing the rogue, had a few driveby swipes but no takers.
Almost all the fish are in a classic transitory migration, hugging wood and about 1/3 to 1/2 way back the to creeks.
The creeks that feed brookville are huge, so theres plenty of wood and area to cover. We hit templeton and wolf creek today
and when you did catch one they weren't quite as aggressive as they were Monday when woody and I hit the lake.
Lots of time still left to catch fish, the plankton and shad havent hit the surface yet, so you dont see much visible
action of bass busting shad.. we did fish far off the bank today on a flat and saw a few big fish working the shad, but no takers on the lures we threw at them.
good fall times are still to come, and its still fun just being out there on the slow days.
