17 years plus of guiding clients. In the spring from March 15th to April 15th is the best time for spider style cane pole fishing for slab crappie. Shad run is late April.Bass fishing the main river for LGMouth is from mid April to late May.Bay fishing gets started in June and is done by November. Monster cats are April to June and October to late December.Hot days and evening topwater LGMouth June to Sept. Those evening trips are truly some of the best trips for two fly fisherman or light tackle anglers.

You would figure with all the LGMouth caught on my boat a snakehead would show up. Well today it did. We caught many nice fish including this rare red stripe LGMouth. A nice crappie too.
We filleted and released it in a trash can.
